GoDiveMEX | Dive Different

In this exceptional area of the Caribbean, we have immersion possibilities, each with a superlative level of beauty, so we divide them into ocean and cenotes.

OCEAN

It is the immersion carried out on board, in salt water, enjoying the reefs, shipwrecks and wildlife sightings. While each point has its own particular interests, different depths and current speeds, they all boast the same beauty and breathtaking blue of Caribbean waters, considered the most beautiful in the world.

To the North of the Yucatan Peninsula, between the town of Playa del Carmen and the island of Cozumel, begins the world's largest transboundary reef system, which extends through Belize, Guatemala and Honduras for more than 1000 km, being the second largest barrier reef in the world.

From Playa del Carmen, we dive daily to the different reefs of the coast, having dives for all levels between 10 and 30 meters deep, with a range of temperatures depending on the season between 26 and 29 degrees and a maximum distance of 35 minutes of navigation. Read More

Puerto Morelos is a small town located about 35 km north of Playa del Carmen. This small fishing village is a place of peace and tranquility for travelers and tourists looking to disconnect and get away from the tourist centers of the Riviera Maya. In front of its coasts is the National Park of Reefs of Puerto Morelos with an extension of more than 9000 hectares that offers us of the most varied immersions. Highlighted among them is the wreck "Juan Escutia". Sunk to 10 minutes of navigation from the coast and 27 meters deep, it is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular dives. Read More

CENOTES

This diving takes place in the cavern area in the cenotes: a natural access to the fragile system in the middle of the jungle. They are immersions in fresh, transparent water, where you can see geological formations, backlights and haloclines. Many consider immersion in cenotes as the highlight of their experience as divers.

This peninsula, located in the extreme southeast of North America, and being part of the land that divides the Caribbean Sea from the Gulf of Mexico, houses the largest flooded cave systems in the world. These underground rivers are born through constant rainwater through the limestone rock of the land.

More information

The most common dives that take place in cenotes are cavern immersions. Generally, any diver with a minimum certification of Open Water and having a good buoyancy control can make such dives. All immersions are different and, due to the great variety of cenotes, there are cave dives for all levels. We will dive in small groups with a maximum of 4 people per guide. Additionally, we will have a comprehensive briefing to inform you of all the rules, standards and safety protocols that will ensure a safe and comfortable diving. Read More

Cave diving is going beyond the limits of penetration of natural sunlight, any area or area more than 60 meters from the surface, places where simultaneous passage of at least two divers is not allowed or submerged at depths of more than 40 meters, it is considered cave diving. It is necessary to be aware of the importance of being perfectly trained and trained to dive in these areas without direct access to the surface . We can practically ensure that we talk about one of the most demanding diving modalities that may exist.

Every year between the months of November and March, coinciding with the minimum temperature drop in the Caribbean Sea, the coasts and shallow waters are visited by female bull sharks that come to give birth in the safety of the mangroves and shallow waters. Read more

Minimum certification level Advanced

Description of the activity: DURATION 2 HOURS:

There are two options of diving with bull sharks.

  • Sighting: A drift dive is made on a sandy bottom about 24 meters deep where the sharks usually are. It is a fortuitous encounter between these wonderful beings who will come to browse and continue on their way.
  • Attracting: The immersion involves attracting sharks with food. While the guide takes care that all are well located at a specific point, a specialized diver (covered with a steel mesh and complying with all safety protocols) begins to attract the animals. In the summer months, the largest concentration of whale sharks in the world occurs off the coast of Cancun. In order to enjoy this spectacle of nature, it is enough to equip ourselves with fins, mask, snorkel and throw ourselves into the water. It is impossible to determine the number of specimens that can be seen in a single day. Due to the high concentration of plankton on the surface, it is likely to spot other species such as devil rays that are also attracted by the amount of food.

Description of the activity: DURATION 8 HOURS:

Around 6:30 a.m we move from Playa del Carmen to the pier of Punta Sam in the city of Cancun. There we start a navigation of about an hour until we meet the school of whales, where we will make the sighting and swim with them. Once the activity is over, we will go to Isla Mujeres where we will enjoy a lunch on a beautiful beach and finally we will return to Punta Sam where we will head back to Playa del Carmen.

It includes:

Transfer from Playa del Carmen to Punta Sam (Cancun) and return
Snorkel guide
Snorkel equipment
Drinks, snacks on board
Ceviche lunch at the north beach (Isla Mujeres)

Enjoying diving is available to everyone. Contemplation, calm, tranquility and weightlessness are some of the words that describe this activity. Our instructors will ensure your safety and comfort at all times, and will help you discover a hidden world beneath the surface. Read more

Description of the activity: DURATION 7 HOURS:

The activity begins at the diving center by briefing on the introduction to diving where equipment, safety measures, standards and protocols will be discussed. Later we go to the pool to put into practice all the exercises and basic skills to perform our first sea dives. Once practiced, we go to the beach where our boat is to do double immersion in the reef.

It includes:

Transportation from the diving center to the pool, beach and return
Certified diving instructor
Complete diving equipment

During February and March there is a massive concentration of sailfish in the Mexican Caribbean waters. Sailfishes are attracted by banks of sardines that serve as food for these fast predators. We will be in the presence of the fastest fish of our oceans that delights us with rapid onslaughts, 360° turns and jumps. Plus, at this same time of the year it is also very possible to swim with dolphins, oceanic stingrays, whale sharks and schools of bonito so the show is guaranteed.

Description of the activity: DURATION 8 HOURS:

Around 6:30 a.m we move from Playa del Carmen to the Punta Sam pier in Cancun. We will navigate Northeast at least one hour guided by the flight of the frigates that indicate the position of the school where the sailfish are located. During the course of the activity, not only will we enter the water with the sailfish, but we can also do it with any other species that we find there (dolphins, whale sharks, stingrays, etc). When the activity is over, we will head to Isla Mujeres to enjoy lunch and finally we will start our return to Playa del Carmen.

It includes:

Transfer from Playa del Carmen to Punta Sam (Cancun) and return
Snorkel equipment
Drinks, snacks on board
Certified guide
Ceviche lunch at north beach (Isla Mujeres)
